I live in the City of Milwaukee. I read that treated waste water is dumped into Lake Michigan which is also the city’s drinking water supply. Many harmful chemicals such as Drano go down people’s drains. How are chemicals like this removed from waste water and the drains and/or drinking water?

Like most home owners who have a drain problem, I don’t like using chemicals in my home, but my hair clogged the shower drain before I could get a screen to stop it. Anyone know of something else that will work?

The water will not soakaway and I think the shower drain is blocked after the waste trap.

I have used a plunger, and bleach, and I would rather not go out and get a chemical draining fluid because thats even more chemicals and expensive. Is there another way i can unclog my drains?

When I do laundry, when the washer drains my bathroom sink spits and bathtub drain gurgles and there is a horrible rotten egg smell. This happens every time I do the weekly washing. I cut back on laundry soap and fab softener and the stench is still lingering. Have also tried the septic treatments and nothing has worked. Have tried to check the drain vents but doesn’t looked like I have clogged pipes. You can hear the gurgling outside also from the vents. What is going on with my draining system? HELP ME!
