I am living in Chicago area and I had some DIY maintenance work done myself for my car. I got some waste fluids that I do not know where to dispose. They are the bake fluid and the power steering fluid. But I do not know where to send it to since I am not supposed to dump in the drains or pour them in to a garbage can or just dump it outside house. Putting them into the drains could get on the wrong side of the law.

I have a drainage question for you all. My above ground pool has been sitting without any drainage maintenance for two years what kind of maintenance does it need?

I don’t want to totally drain it. You can see the bottom. What kind of chemicals, or maintenance does it need? Would the answer be amended if I mentioned that it is sitting next to the garden soakaway although separated by an impermeable membrane.

I have a Craftsman 6.0 HP lawnmower that’s been in the garage for 4 years. I love it but want to use it. The fluids were never drained from it. I have a chlorine pool and have a guy who provided maintenance it throughout the summer. Do I still need him to maintenance it during the months we won’t be using the pool? Should I drain the pool altogether before the maintenance and do I need to top up the chlorine?

We’re buying a home with a pool and have no idea about pool maintenance. Do you need to drain a pool every season, every month, etc. If not do you need to add chemicals if you do not drain the pool?

Just checking around what people do to keep their bathtub and other sinks running smoothly. I have used the old Baking soda and Vinegar trick, and the Bleach and boiling water trick’s. But if all else fails I will try to use the old hand fed rodder. But then if that fails, I resort to DRANO gel, I know this is bad, but if all else fails, that does work…Anyone else?
