How can I clear the kitchen sink drain without using chemicals. Plunger didn’t work?

How can I clear the kitchen sink drain without using chemicals. I live by a lake and the water goes into a lagoon so I don’t want to contaminate the ground. The last thing I want to do is clear the drain and ruin the environment. The drain seems to block regularly, are there any tips?

Go to the hardware store and buy a snake its a wire that you put down your sink and twist. be careful not to break the elbow. If its to think the get through with a snake, remove the elbow and clean it out there.

Try a 1/2 c of baking soda;pour down drain and wait for the bubbling action to stop and then rinse with cold water.

Use a snake (auger). They’re pretty inexpensive and work well. I just used mine last week.

Or you could remove the trap below the sink (use a pipe wrench) to clear out the muck.

You can unscrew the pipe under the sink , just make sure you have a bucket ready to collect the waste,

You can try boiling several gallons of water, flushing down the drain, the heat from the water might help breakup grease, or other soluble items.

Take the trap off underneath the sink. They are put together with couplings that wind off and on. The trap is the very lowest curved piece on the pipe coming out of the sink drain.

They have cans of compressed air that has a big round head on it. You put it in the drain and push down. I have used it and it works good.

There is a plumbing tool called a snake Using this may help push or move ehatever is clogging your drain.

After fixing this problem, go buy a drain strainer. They cost about 2 bucks.
