Drain pipes carry waste effluent from your fixtures down to the sewage system. In the case of the home sewer system, pipes are placed in between the inspection chambers. There should not be any clogging if the system cleans itself. The use of correct gradients is a must here. The system uses mostly UPVC tubing. Once the system has been laid down, testing should be carried out prior to inaugurating the system. This must be carried out between the inspection chambers.

Drainage pipes need to be laid down in channels dug in the earth. They can be three to five hundred millimeters in depth. Drainage lines running under a walkway, driveway or parking area are installed with a concrete casing. To begin laying the lines, first excavate the trenches to the necessary depths. These should be graded towards the the tanks or sewers. A one to four ratio is appropriate for the incline. The bottom of the trenches should be rammed and compacted properly. Pegs can be used to set accurate levels in the trench bottoms.

The drainage pipes should never be laid down haphazardly, they are to be put in a straight line. The pipes should be connected with sockets leading uphill or in the direction of the building. An even and solid ground is required for laying the system throughout its length. The female and male sockets should be joined firmly using a strong adhesive. Read the instructions that come with the adhesive carefully and make sure that all of them are followed well. The pipes must go into the full depth of the wall, while linking to the inspection chambers. The pipes should remain clean.

When laying the drainpipes, they should be thoroughly inspected. This is to make sure that the pipes are free of punctures. Be sure to check the foundation contains the socket recesses to accommodate the external shape of the drains. They should also be kept as short as possible. The inlet and outlet of the inspection chamber must be even and ordered. Once all joints are done, wrap the system and cover with soil. Connect to the sewer or septic tank. And the final step is to link the system to the utilities to finish the drainage system and commence the final test.
